Every year a large proportion of the people around you are also there for the first time. Nobody expects you to know where to go or what happens next, and asking is entirely normal.
Tell us it is your first Umrah when you enquire. It changes how we brief you and whether we suggest a guide.
On religious questions
We arrange travel. For questions of ruling — what is required, what invalidates, what to do if something is missed — speak to a qualified scholar or your local imam before you travel. It is worth having those conversations at home rather than trying to resolve them on the day.
Practical advice that actually helps
Agree a meeting point with anyone you are travelling with before you enter the Haram, and agree a second one in case the first is closed. Phone signal is unreliable when the mosque is full.
- Agree a physical meeting point, and a backup
- Write your hotel name and district on a card
- Do not carry your passport around; leave it in the hotel safe
- Pace yourself on the first day — the heat is deceptive
